about the photographer
As a photographer, I seek to explore both the mundane as well as the extraordinary.
The extraordinary are gifts of nature, and I am particularly drawn by the
beauty and presence of the desert. What is normally perceived as a desolate,
arid, and lifeless terrain actually contains treasures beyond belief, hidden
from those that do not stop and seek them out. Petrified dunes, lost watering
holes, slot canyons, and vast mesas. The desert comes alive at every turn,
all you need to do is look. The mundane is equally fascinating, as it’s
rich in complexity and narrative, but so often passed by in the haste of
contemporary life. The intimate dissection of a flower, the union of a
dandelion and the wind, the cycles of life occurring in our backyards,
cities, kitchens, and cemeteries. So often passed by, the mundane contains
spatial and temporal patterns rich in complexity, beauty, and untold tales.
Such are the images I try to capture and hope to share.
